Kitchen Connect
An evening to support Afghan women small business entrepreneurs
On the 20th of October 2023, Afghan Women on the Move hosted an interactive event "Kitchen Connect - Cooking Stories."
The event was centered around women small business entrepreneurs and was a celebration of achievements, the sharing of stories and of food together. We showcased the women-owned businesses and enjoyed a panel discussion from some of the women.
The the audience represented AWOTM supporters, donors, sponsors, friends and other stakeholders from various communities, businesses, local councils, state and federal governments, as well as representatives from many other business platforms in attendance.
Additionally, we had the pleasure of featuring a delightful venture – an authentic ice cream-making session presented by a newly arrived Afghan family, who graciously shared their Sheryakh (Ice Cream) and Afghan street food Shornakhad and Bolani for entree.
