A multitasker, perfectionist event organiser, and genuine supporter of our sisters at Afghan Women on the Move.

Sonya has been with Afghan Women on the Move for over 7 years now, representing us on many platforms and passionately advocating for women’s rights and diversity. Her exceptional event coordination skills have been instrumental in driving our organisation forward, leading to countless meaningful engagements.

Thank you, Sonya, for being a wonderful and excellent team player. Keep shining and inspiring us all!

Meet Basira

Basira joined us as a volunteer from Afghanistan two years ago. She later participated in our Train the Trainer program, and thanks to her knowledge and commitment, we offered her a part-time role as a content writer in three languages.

In this role, Basira coordinated and wrote Kitchen Connect - Cooking Stories, a fun and informative 24-page directory filled with inspiring stories and recipes in multiple languages. Her talent, strong work ethic, and passion for building a better life in Australia shine through in everything she does.

Basira, we at Afghan Women on the Move are so lucky to have you as part of our team. We’re incredibly proud of all you’ve accomplished!
