AWOTM Founder appointed to Salvos Multicultural Ambassadors

It is an absolute honour and privilege to be a The Salvation Army Australia #Multicultural Ambassador alongside some very well-known members and leaders of our #CALD community, said Maryam Zahid, Founder and Director of Afghan Women on the Move.

This role gives me an absolute pleasure to connect with the Multicultural community (CALD) about the wonderful work that the Salvation Army performs.

I will wear this title as a badge of honour and will do my very best to further #enhance the connection of the Salvation Army and the work they perform in the CLAD #community.

I am very keen to hear about any #ideas or #initiatives that you may have that can service the community.

As a side note: 22 years ago, when I first arrived in #Australia, the first dress that I was able to afford was a blue dress from the Salvation Army shop, and I felt like a princess
