Shakiba Mahryaar was born in Afghanistan. She holds a degree in Literature and a Master’s in International Relations. She worked as a teacher for four years and also held a management role. Shakiba is a passionate human rights activist.

Since relocating to Australia two years ago, she has continued to build bridges through education, advocacy, and community engagement. Shakiba has joined Afghan Women on the Move as a Digital Literacy Mentor in the Digital Sisters program.
